πŸ’€ How long have you been doing this?

Our first death and mourning event took place in 2005. Make sure to check out our events to see what we have coming up.

πŸ’€ Can I get automatic updates about your events?

Of course! Sign-up for our e-newsletter to get news about upcoming events here.

πŸ’€ Can I book your group for an event?

Yes! If you have a proposal for a 2025 event please reach out to us using our contact form. We do prefer to stay within an hour of St Louis, MO and our availability in October is very limited.

πŸ’€ I’d like to make a donation to your group. How can I do that?

First of all thank-you so much for your support! We are not currently accepting monetary donations or offering paid memberships. The best thing you can do to help us is share information about our events or support the historic sites that host our events like Bellefontaine Cemetery, The Campbell House Museum, the St Louis Public Library, Jefferson Barracks Historic Site, Missouri History Museum, The General Daniel Bissell House, The Field House Museum. Lafayette Park Conservancy and The Stephen and Peter Sachs Museum at the Missouri Botanical Garden.

πŸ’€ Can I join the Mourning Society of St Louis?

Yes! Find out more about joining our group here. If you are interested in participating in Mourning Society of St Louis events please reach out to us using our contact form.

πŸ’€ Do you loan or sell historical clothing that can be used at your reenactments?

We do not. Members of the group are responsible for purchasing or making their own clothing and accessories. We can provide advice on where to buy as well as appropriate patterns, etc.

πŸ’€Do I need to dress in mourning to participate?

No. There are often positions at our events for anyone who wants to help even if you are not a reenactor or you are just getting started. Even if you do plan on dressing in historical clothing, you don’t need to be in mourning to participate. If you have questions about clothing requirements please reach out to us using our contact form.
